2009-2010 Sample Pre-Kindergarten Schedule
ELCM’s Pre-Kindergarten program runs from 8:30 am until 12:00 pm and has both part-time and full-time options. Students may choose from two-day, three day, or five-day programs. The five-day program is available only to Extended Day students. With two lead teachers and one assistant, our student teacher ratio is 8:1. (NH State ratio is 12:1.) Our Pre-Kindergarten program supports ELCM’s philosophy of the development of the whole child. Our developmentally-appropriate curriculum lays the foundation for successful academic and social growth in kindergarten. ELCM’s nurturing environment provides a safe atmosphere where children actively engage in their own learning.
The academic focus of our Pre-Kindergarten Program emphasizes early literacy, basic math concepts, and development of motor skills. Classroom projects introduce students to a variety of materials and creative methods. Our thematic classroom learning centers encourage students to learn through play and make the learning process fun and exciting.
